The meal was in 1903 style. Back then they did not have all the spices available today. The salad consisted of mixed greens with pecans, fresh sliced pears and a vinaigrette dressing. Canned fruit-cocktail was popular at that time, which was served in fruit bowls. The pork was cooked with onion, apples, and bay leaves. Of course, we had Masonic Green Beans. Chocolate cake was coming into vogue at that time. We had a choice of chocolate or pumpkin cake for dessert.
We had a remarkably successful Birthday Party! because of all who donated to this celebration. We were able to donate significant amounts to the Beauceant and Ruby Chapter OES. We also had a fairly accurate count of how many would attend the dinner. again, thank you for your support.
