Knights Templar

The Knight Templar Orders are Christian in nature. Templarly consists of three orders. Instead of calling the ceremonies “Degrees,” the ceremonies are called “Orders.” These Orders are the Red Cross, the Mediterranean Pass and Order of Malta, and the Order of the Temple. The Order of the Red Cross depicts Zerubbabel, the governor of the providence of Judah in the Persian Empire, gaining permission from King Darius to rebuild the Temple at Jerusalem. The Mediterranean Pass talks about Saint Paul traveling across the Mediterranean. The Order of Malta is about how the Jewish High Priest Joseph Caiaphas convicted Jesus and how the Jews around him betrayed him before he was crucified.
The original Knight Templar organization was formed in 1119 to protect Europeans who wanted to have a pilgrimage to the Holy Land to see where Jesus walked. Many of these people were robbed and killed. Later the Crusades began; many believed that the Europeans decided to stop the Moorish of Spain and Italy by the Moors, by invading the Holy Land. The Moors were Islamist invaders. The Knights Templar held Jerusalem
for over a hundred years. During this time the Order became very wealthy because they were a very favored charity by people throughout Europe. The Knights Templar developed the first banking system in Europe that enabled people to conduct transactions throughout Europe. This also led to their downfal, France became very heavily indebted to the Templars.
The King of France, who decided to bring down the Templars, created horrible charges against them. He believed if he could confiscate their property and destroy their organization, France would be out of debt. Some believe he murdered a few popes until he found one who would bring charges against the Templars. On Friday October 13, 1307, all Knights Templars in many parts of Europe were arrested. Templars in Scotland and England were not arrested though. Before 1307 it is not believed that there was any record of Friday the Thirteenth being unlucky! The Templars were tortured and the last Grand Master, Jacques deMolay, was burned at the stake in 1314 after being tortured for seven years.
The Masonic Knight Templar was started in the mid seventeen hundreds because throughout the ages men have been fascinated by the
Templars. In the Masonic Order, the candidate represents a poor pilgrim who wants to visit the Holy Land. To do so he decides to join the Templars. He symbolically goes through seven years of preparation before he finally is Knighted. The Order of the Temple may be one of the most impressive ceremonies in all Freemasonry when performed properly.
Some Freemasons will accept the challenges to learn parts, others may not. All the degrees and orders in Freemasonry require participation of its. Members who participate will be greatly rewarded and maintain an active mind throughout their lives. One of Masonry most important objectives is to make men want to read and study so that they may have a positive influence upon the people around them, not only through their knowledge, but also through their example. A good Mason should take it upon himself to read and study the Bible, the body of knowledge created by mankind, and to influence others who want to learn.
The philanthropies sponsored by the Knights Templar are the Knight Templar Eye Foundation (http://www.knightstemplar.org/ktef/)
and the Knights Templar Holy Land Pilgrimage (http://www.kemerley.com/Freemasonry/KT/HLP/Holy_Land_Pilgrimage_INTRO.htm). The Knight Templar Eye Foundation primary focus is medical research. Although at one time the Eye Foundation assisted people without insurance to
receive eye surgery, this practice ended with the advent of ObamaCare. If you find someone who needs eye surgery and does not have to means to obtain it, please contact a Knight Templar. The Eye Foundation might be able to assist.
The Knights Templar Holy Land Pilgrimage conducts annual tours for Christian Pastors of many different Christian denominations to tour the Holy Land to see where Jesus lived and walked. The tour is only for pastors and not their families so that pastors may focus only on the tour.
